Although go-go music is rooted in the funk and soul sound of the late 1960s and 70s, many point to the mid-70s as the time when go-go emerged as DC's own rhythmic language. Many of the artists that NLE works with are the creators of the iconic sounds that kept Eastside, the Black Hole, the Metro Club, Rhythms, Classics, the Howard Theatre, and the Panorama Room jumping.

This year we celebrate the crank that's moved generations.
